We’re entering an era of massive change, just look how quickly the world is adapting (or isn’t adapting) to the corona virus. Want it or not humanity is in search of sweeping and impactful innovation, and I think megastructures might be on the horizon.

So here’s the Conch Megastructure, computationally modeled in rhino. It stands in the hilly background of San Jose, or anywhere for that matter. It’s form suggests function akin to that of a portal or gateway... maybe a look into the next generation of transportation.

Conch was an experiment in parametric modeling with grasshopper. How close can I get to mimicking the stacked sine on the back of a shell.

A super aerodynamic shape laterally, not so much from the front.

“So megastructures, what am I talking about here; think, the Halo Ring, Dyson Sphere, space elevator, large hadron collider, or even the Great Wall of China.”
